When I previously mentioned that I’m writing for sites other than this one, some of you were like “HEY I’d be cool with you writing one blog post a week made up of links to all of the other things you’re writing.” I did not make that up; actual people said that. I’m not sure if I believe you, but let’s try it out and I’ll point you to everything I’ve been doing when I’m not neonfreshing.

1) I wrote this article over at Adweek about Crest and Oral-B’s hysterical Halloween spot.

2) I’m still making good on my promise to stick with yoga for a short while. I have three more classes until I fulfill my yoga obligations. Some (little) progress has been made; evidence here and here. After each yoga class I still leave with the feeling that I just got hazed, though.

3) The cool people at RedRover asked me to do a Q&A. It felt a lot like those Myspace surveys we did in 2004, so naturally, I loved it.

4) Yesterday was my day to teach the Kindergarten through 2nd Grade art class at our homeschooling co-op. If you think that I’m not intimidated by a dozen six year olds, UHHHHH, you’re wrong. Thankfully, my friend Alli at No Time for Flashcards has a TON of crafts, even categorized by age groups, so we made some leaves and I don’t think anyone ended up hating me. (Maybe.)

5) I do not like Drake’s music. I mean, I don’t hate him, but I just can’t get down with him. However… daaaaaang, son, I really like this cover.

6) I guest posted at the lovely Micha Boyett’s blog, Mama Monk, for her One Good Phrase series. Her blog and my post have spiritual and religious themes, so skip it if you’re not down with that sort of thing, NBD at all, you feel me?

7) When I’m not here, I’m super active on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram, but currently only nominally active on Pinterest. I explain how I treat the “Big 4″ right here.

8) I wrote this over on Adweek’s blog, AdFreak, and you must watch the video if you need a feel-good moment break. Seriously, I was smiling the whole time.

9) I’m attempting to throw a costume together last minute so I can seem festive when I pass out PlayDoh to the neighborhood kids. I was thinking about going as J. Lo, but I currently don’t have the assets for it (pun!, but really I’m talking about a velour sweatsuit). Eleventh hour prep right here, y’all. If you have a photo of yourself in costume on Instagram or Twitter or whatever, I’d love to see a link (leave it in the comments if you want). :)

See you tomorrow for TIHIF!

Thanks for sharing #8 – that video was so fun! It really was a great ‘feel-good moment break’… and now back to work :)

Totally! I watched it again, and I just love how some of them light up and start laughing.

Yay! Thanks for the summary! Also, you don’t love Drizzy? :-(

Ehhhh, not really. I don’t even like his own version of that song. But the covers, yeeeeaaahhh I get down with the covers.

I don’t have a real costume suggestion, but J.Lo and Play Doh rhyme, so you should totally combine the two. J.Doh? Play.Lo?

I checked out your post on one good phrase and I loved it. I have done some things I’m not proud of my past and sometimes I catch myself looking back and remembering with shameful feelings or anger at those things that have hurt or hard times I’ve had. All we can really do is “dust off your shoulders” and keep moving. The good or the bad are what led me to my life now and are what made me who I am.

Thanks for reminding me!

Thanks for reading it, Delia. Probably too super serious for NF, but it was nice to write for Micha’s blog.

Thanks for sharing! I only had time to read the Q and A one, but I’m looking to check out the others tonight after the little goes to bed. Anyway I just needed to comment here before I forget about The Bear Snores On. It’s the best! We find that it lends itself to a rap-like reading, which I’m sure you’re aware of since you are a rap-enthusiast. I was disappointed to find that the other “The Bear Does _____” are not as good, even though the authors gave it a serious effort.

Haha, totally agree.. we like the other Bear books, but my fave is absolutely The Bear Snores On. :)

Count me as one who would love a weekly wrap up of all your writings!

I’m dressed as a Queen Bee today, my 3-year old is a bird and my baby is a lady bug, and hubby is a bird watcher/bug collector! Some costume pics at: http://instagram.com/erinsenge

And this is why you’re my favorite Roo. Shh, don’t tell the other bloggers. You always make me laugh and make me think. Number 6 is the best.

Also, only vaguely (?) related. Your post on momming the other day…. You really struck a cord. And I’m working on a related-ish post about body-image and weight loss and self-talk. So thanks for inspiring me (and hopefully inspiring me to be better to myself)

Roo November 1, 2013 at 11:05 am

Oh, maybe I won’t, Mary, but I might print this comment out and stick it on my wall. ;)

So glad you liked that post… please ping me when your post is up. I’d love to read it!

It’s finally up… I’m now wishing I had proofread, but why start now, I didn’t do it in grad school either.

Loved your post on Mama Monk. Read it the other day when you RT and it was awesome.

You’re AdFreak is hi-larious! I loved your Tesco Mobile article and the subway one… Awesomeness.

As for last minute Halloween… I stole my idea from Amy Adams. I saw her dressed up as Rosie the Riveter and realized I owned a chambray shirt and dark wash jeans. Just grabbed some red lipstick and red bandana et viola! Instagram proof here: http://instagram.com/p/gIv6VoRzuk/

Roo November 1, 2013 at 11:06 am

Oh man, Tesco is HILARIOUS. I ended up interviewing them and Tweeting them, and they seriously have that whole Twitter game on lock.

Love your costume! You look amazing. I ended up going as this: http://instagram.com/p/gLPyuZw5Wi/

Myspace surveys were the shiz back in the day. Love it!

You can check out my costume on my last blog post. I can’t link to it directly because I’m at work and they block a lot of the internet, including Wordpress unfortunately.

Love the costumes, and love the POW barrettes!

I’m so glad you’re doing these weekly posts. I was afraid I was going to have to search all over the internets for your work.

Oh good, Alisa! Maybe I’ll make it a weekly thing, then. :)

Thanks for sharing your work! All adorable and hilarious per the usual. Also, I love that cover! I just discovered Peter Lee Johnson on YouTube. He does violin covers of rap/pop songs. I have downloaded his stuff so I can still enjoy while the kids are in the car. Plus, my son is more excited about his violin now! Here is a link to his Tupac “Changes” cover. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dsn5hmDY-Hc

Guuuurl he killed that cover!!! And, cough, not to hard to look at. Will check out the rest of the links during my stirring pumpkin seeds/making chili/costuming kids breaks tonight :)
Happy Halloween!!!!!

Your yoga picture poses and comments on the yoga pictures and posts shows you have a lot of yoga readers. Would you possibly be open to letting the masses know about an article I just found? http://www.the-secret-lives-of-yoga-poses.com/hypermobility-syndrome.html it explains about how some people are more flexible than others. And I would love to be able to do yoga but I have to be very aware and alert to my body and my body’s limits. I was only 28 when I found out about the hypermobility so there could be others out there….. I’ll shush now and let you delete this if it’s too weird. Lol

I’m down with the “what I’m writing” roundup! Besides, I can’t imagine how you write as much as you do, with all you have going on. Feel free to have a day like this every once in a while (weekly, perhaps?), as far as I’m concerned. (Not that you needed our permission, KWIM?)

Can you link up the new “allergy/asthma” blog, if you’re still doing that? Or maybe that’s a dumb question, and you obviously would have? Nevermind.

Love the yoga updates! They’re inspiring and hilarious!
